The bridge must be installed by the user but it is not difficult to do. The tuning likes to slip a little bit right out of the box, but I imagine/hope this will probably improve with time as the strings get used to their stretched length. Same thing with the rosin- it's a little hard to coat the strings and bow well at first, but will get easier as some rosin builds up on both. Unlike the smaller size violin, this was easier to cover it with rosin and start producing a sound on the strings.
I think the sound is not bad. It's obviously not going to be as good as a very expensive violin, but it seems perfectly adequate to learn on, and I'm satisfied with the purchase.
