The craftsmanship is decent for the price. The body and fittings feel solid. The tone isn't perfect for concert hall quality, but for lessons and home practice it's absolutely acceptable.

It's harder to tune and harder to get rosin to work on this violin than on the full sized one from Glarry (V402), and there are more options at full size. But this is the only one currently offered in this size, I think. It's certainly a decent value for only $60 to get a case and a violin and a bow, so that's good. For the price, it seems like a very good value. The case is nice and has a humidity sensor, and the set includes two bows, an extra set of strings, and more. The bridge must be installed by the user but it is not difficult to do. The tuning likes to slip a little bit right out of the box, but I imagine/hope this will probably improve with time as the strings get used to their stretched length. Same thing with the rosin- it's a little hard to coat the strings and bow well at first, but will g ...
