I bought this violin for my wife whom is an experienced player. She loves it. It's not a bad quality instrument, although it took some time to get it tuned correctly and to get sound off the bow. For the cost it's well worth it. Overall very pleased with the purchase.

I will say this... It was packed very, very well and every inch of this beauty was protected! I have named her ("Miss Cello") she looks just like the ones in the music store. She even sounds like the one I tried out at the music store. I'm certain there are differences other than the price, (I could not have afforded the $1000 store price tag) however, she is one fine and solidly made cello. Great for the price range. Color is nice and the music teacher said it was fine for a beginner. I do recommend you get the hard case package, though. I am sorry I did not do that because it`s a big, bulky instrument with fragile parts.

This is a good violin for beginners to learn on... it comes with the case, bow, booklet for chords and songs, a set of strings. Good little instrument for the price.

My daughter loved this cello it's very nicely put together we had to take it in to get toned and get some strings put on the only thing it's missing is rosin comes all dried out and u have to get a new one

Bought for my daughter. Had to install the bridge ourself. After allowing the strings time to stretch and settle it holds tune and is playable. The bow is horrible however, but will get you going. Overall this is a good starter violin at a great price.

Fantastic product. Great for our 12-year-old to learn violin. The end of the bow was cracked, and the company replaced the bow very quickly. Would definitely recommend this company and product.

Just got it today. Gorgeous! Black is really really cool. Bridge is not set, but to be expected for shipping. Everything pictured arrived, sound post is in right place as well. Tuned it up and sounds great! It meets all my requirements for a cello.

It is good for a first violin. Needs a good deal of set up and tuning is very hard even with their tuner. I had to go in and get it professionally done.

My husband wanted to learn how to play the cello. The cello arrived in great condition. It looked beautiful. He was able to tune it just fine and it did take a couple of days to "hold" the tune, but that is expected. It's been a great starter. Just a tip for those starting too. Use a nail file to rough up the rosin and then the rosin will better coat the bow. I would recommend for anyone needing a starter cello!

My wife is thrilled with this. It is affordable enough that there need not be the expectation that she will one day be an expert at the instrument; something that she enjoys is enough. This may not be as good as more expensive cellos, but for someone who had nothing and no expectations, it is wonderful.

For a beginner this is a great instrument to get. The case is also very sturdy and works well. Maybe add something to the case so it remains open when you take the instrument out of it. Overall a great buy for a beginner.

I am very pleased with this purchase. It is the 4th instrument from Glarry I have purchased, and I have never been let down. I cannot imagine a better starter instrument. I agree with other reviews, the bow is a little hard to rosin up, and the fine tuners are a little hard to tune. But these are minor considerations. Came and looks as described. I was impressed with the cellos resonance for being so non-expensive compared to my local music store. I would definitely recommend these cellos to anyone just starting out like myself & someone who doesn't want to pay arm and leg for an instrument that they aren't sure how long they will play it (like your kid in school perhaps).

This is a really good deal. The instrument I received has good tone, and was very playable as soon as I stood up the bridge and tuned up. You might need to use a very small file to cut the bridge grooves a bit deeper, I did. The bow is OK, but it's definitely a bargain bow. I would recommend getting better rosin as well. Build quality is very good for the price. Finish is also very good. My only complaint is the fine tuners, which are not very good, and felt a bit "gritty" until I cleaned ...
