I purchased this bass with the full intention of modifying the heck out of it. I had a new pickup picked out, new tuners, and was even looking to put a roasted maple neck on it. When I received the bass I was surprised at how light it was without being neck heavy. I am impressed. This is a good first bass guitar for the beginner. I love the finish on it. There are no fret sprouts. Just need a minor adjustment on the bridge - easy to do with the tool provided - to get the right height for me. The strings were in good shape. Normally, I replace the strings on inexpensive guitars but did not need to do so. Plugged it in and it sounds fine. The body is light.

Discovered the Glarry GP Electric Bass on a couple of YouTube unboxing videos and decided to give it a shot. This was a great example of the GIB 5 string Bass. All I did was tune up, and I was off to the races recording into my Audiobox USB 96. The accessories are great, but don't count on any impact protection from the gig bag. I'm new to bass, but intermediately experienced in guitar in a studio setting, and I'd highly recommend this for the price.
