I was pleasantly surprised with this purchase. I still can't believe what I got here. Yes, it needed a little intonation adjustment and there's more things I can do to it to improve further, but there's no rush. I'm having so much fun with it already.And It looks flawlessly beautiful. I think their QC is going up because some older reviews said they had more issues. I do also own a couple of stratocasters. One of them is a custom shop. But I had an itch for a telly and this is quenching it fine. ...

Let me start by saying that you can't expect to much fit and finish from such an inexpensive guitar. Having said that, I do have some issues. The neck is quite raw and "sandy", which I think will require my attention. There is some fret buzz up and down the neck, but a setup will remedy that, along with the sharp edges on the frets. They were not sanded down at all. There is also a very noticeable bridge buzz. But probably not unexpected. I figured that I would likely have to replace that. It di ...

It did play ok right out of the box after a tune. The tuning pegs are cheap and will likely need replacement. I will do all of this when I take the guitar apart and mod it up. But for an $89 guitar, it's fine. It will be much more playable after I mod it. I will say that the finish on the body is pretty nice, and the electrics seem to work fine.

Granted, this won't win a contest with that guitar, but if you want something that has great looks, near perfect fit and finish, for under $100, you gotta get one of these Glarry's!! My GF Legacy has me down a rabbit hole, digging into the history, building a collection of stuff Fender, Musicman and G&L related. I've never had a "tele" style guitar before, just the history of this style of guitar makes it a fantastic addition to my collection, and it looks GREAT... George would be proud of your work! All I have to do now, is figure out which one of your FANTASTIC guitars to grab next!!

I came back! I've had my GTL for just over a week now, played it more than any new guitar within that time frame, and now I can point out a few issues. Even if I could, it still gets 5 BIG stars, so read on about my nit-picking. I saw a couple of reviews that said the frets were rough, or gritty. Here's what I found out: These strings are a few notches below average (the price of this thing is a bunch of notches below, don't forget) they don't stay in tune well. Back to that fret issue, these strings have some kind of metal dust or grit on them, they turned my G&L White thin pick almost black... that's not where your fingers touch... the grit, I think, is from the strings, not the frets. Once I gave it good wipe with a little polish, nothing felt gritty. Speaking of the frets! I looked at a Epi LP, on sale at a major nationwide "guitar center" for $199. I grabbed it to remove it from the rack, and almost cut my fingers on the frets, just by touching it! ALL of THEM had what felt like an 1/8 of an inch poking out on both sides... "shred" with this thing will "truly shred... your fingers", how do they put a guitar out, for you to look at, in that condition? I got it, they don't want you to buy the "sale" guitar... the costly one's "feel so much better". Next, the guitar is SO DARK BLUE, unless you have a spot light on it, you are playing a "black" guitar. I like black guitars too! Finally, I don't know if it could be corrected, while maintaining an unbelievable price, the neck, the body, and the strap pegs don't aligin. It is "neck heavy" and wants to drop down, pulling the strap with it... again BIG DEAL RIGHT! It does however, take some getting used to "supporting" that neck, and playing at the same time. I grabbed some quick pics... The reason I got this, is I wanted to get my Fullerton Signature into my luthier to restore it to as close of condition as it would have been when the inspector signed the tag on 02/21/1995. He said 2 weeks or a bit more, I was number 111 in his list of guitars waiting for the doctor. I didn't want to go that long, without anything to play. It's not like putting your car in the shop, no one offers a "loaner"... hmmmmmm... wonder about that as a side business... "rent a guitar"... buy Glarry's, in 2 or 3 rentals, it's paid for... maybre I should not have said that here... LOL Had to include one pic of my GF Legacy too. Stop thinking about it and GET ONE OF THESE!

Guitar strap pin fell out mid jam session, less than a month after I purchased it. Took extra special care of this new guitar too, never left the case unless it was being played or set up. Customer service gets a zero stars for trying to remedy the situation by telling me to GLUE it back in! Not acceptable. Apparently all Glarry guitar strap pins are the buyers issue and need to be glued in at the owner's expense, where is the quality control anymore!?

I love my Glarrys. I have 2 now and bought a 3rd for a friend so they could get back into guitar. Owning a Glarry means you'll need to learn a little bit about guitars...like "how to adjust a truss rod" to your preference (turn a screw), and maybe an intonation of a string (turn a screw while on a tuner), or maybe the nut needs a little bit of graphite for smooth string movement (add graphite powder). Get into guitars.

My second GTL purchase. I bought it with sole purpose of making it into an instrument that didn't exist here. Using parts from a less-than-perfect 36-inch kids bass, I crafted a GTL bass. Surprisingly easy with a few mods. Should get a few fun double takes at the next jam session.

My low expectations were set too high for this purchase. The craftsmanship is terrible; I have scratches under the finish on the back of the body, deep gouges on the fretboard, blown out drill holes for the fret marker inlay, rough tarnished fret wires made from the softest cheap metal available. There is a terrible buss at the 9th fret on the A and D string, and looking down the neck there is good relief on the low E side while practically dead flat on the high E side, so I'm assuming the neck ...

The overall quality of the guitar doesn't seem worth putting the money into having it professionally set up. The high E string broke within 5 minutes of getting it out of the box. Perfectly tuned with good intonation at the 12th fret, the first fret on all strings registers extremely sharp. I didn't expect a perfect guitar for this price, but I did expect a fun and playable guitar without multiple obvious flaws. I highly recommend against buying this guitar. I'm very disappointed.

Good customer service compensates for overall quality. I'm very satisfied with what I've paid for now. The neck has adjusted well, but fret wires weren't seated. The holes in the saddle that hold the strings we're too small and make it easy for the string to break. A days work and new strings and a better nut have done a lot, but I'll need the frets to be filed to remove the buzzing. Great price for a project guitar.

This is the 2nd of two pieces that I purchased from Glarry!!! I do admit that I had experienced a lil' "faux pas" with the neck concerning "dead spots" where notes couldn't be produced while playing, but its nothing that an allen wrench/truss rod adjustment couldn't handle!! LOL!!!! And I gave it a lil "facelift" if you will, because that "gold" pickguard blended so beautifully with that hue of the wood finish on the guitar.......Overall THIS ONE WHUPS @$$!!!!!!!!! You've done many things right on this guitar and it has been a very good starting point to modify for improvement for what I need as an experienced guitarist. I will list he changes I made, and comment some about them afterward. 1. I leveled and recrowned the frets. I expected to need this since it is even necessary on expensive guitars sometimes. 2. I made a bone nut and filed the slots for very good action. I understand that it would make the guitar expensive for you to do this, so I expected to do it. 3. I reshaped the heel of the neck so that upper access was improved. It is now like a very good quality Fender guitar in that respect. 4. I reshaped the headstock like a Telecaster, and really appreciate that you made the headstock plenty big for that to be possible. 5. I replaced the input jack because all imports need good jacks if one plays a lot. 6. I bored a 7/8" hole through the jack plate hole 6" deep to insert a lead slug to add weight at the extreme rear of the guitar to solve the neck heaviness. 7. Deburred bridge plate. High E was breaking 8. Cut down saddle screws 9. I moved the bridge plate toward the neck 0.43 inches so that the pickup is correctly distanced from the saddles when intonated properly. It is unfortunate that you changed the placement of the bridge plate from the original position. It was correctly placed before, and it appears you chaged where you put it to accommodate the too long screws used for the 3 saddles. You had to change the routing for the pickup in the body. I rerouted a suitable hole and now all is well. Another nice thing about having the bridge plate in the right place is it fits in the pickguard recess just right. I do not hear a need to change the electronics. They sound just fine. I love the body wood, and the neck wood Also the frets ends are angled too much, and the truss rod access had to be carved out to use the wrench.

Do NOT buy this guitar. Mine shipped in the most beat up box I've ever received. Once opened there were so many problems. The high E string was broken, a screw hole drilled in the wrong place, the control plate not on, and the bridge pickup wasn't wired! I emailed them and asked for a full refund and they offered $25 to get it fixed! Why didn't you just check to see if the guitar is functional in the first place! They have not responded to my email in almost a week. I told them I would like to r ...

Before I even took it out of the foam sleeve, I could tell this was a beautiful guitar! I got the sunset finish, and the pictures don't even come close to how fantastic it looks!! After a day or 2 of letting it settle I set the truss, string height and intonation. It is STUNNING!!! Gorgeous. OMGOSH!! I can't believe I could afford one. I've always wanted one, and I finally got one. I'm a disabled veteran, and being on a fixed income it's not easy to afford everything I want, and still provide for my family, but....I GOT ONE, and thank to GLARRY, I GET WHAT I WANT AND I'M STILL ABLE TO PAY THE BILLS!!! I feel the customer service was fabulous ! I own a variety of guitars . A Gibson , PRs se , Ibanez , and Epiphone, I am finding very little difference to the high end models . If I had the room I'd like to try a Glarry bass , maybe someday . So I highly recommend their guitar ...

The woodwork is solid, the stain is even, and it came with a mirror shine right out of the box. Level frets with the ends filed the right way. It really is solid work. I did some minor set up, the intonation was close, as was the action. I turned the truss rod maybe 3/4 of a turn, and that was it, ready to go. It plays beautifully. I love the tone of this guitar, even with the stock strings. The only downside is the pickups are kind of weak and thin sounding. That said, even stock there is a fair amount of tonal control and some interesting sounds to be had here. Out of the box, with a little set-up, this is a perfect beginner guitar. I wish these had been around when I started playing. I would also highly recommend this to anyone looking to mod a guitar (cause seriously I am going to drop about 200 into it and it's gonna hold its own with the big boys) I have already made a second purchase which I am eagerly awaiting.

The guitar arrived promptly and overall looked good, a few sharp frets but for the price point it's to be expected. The reason this review is 4 stars and not 5 is because the screw in the top tuner arrived bent which caused the tuner to lean. This shouldn't be a major issues to fix, but it would have been nice if the guitar was playable out of the box.

They shipped out a replacement guitar right away. I was holding my breath when the replacement arrived and I found that it was in great condition. I have to say that I couldn't be happier. It doesn't sound like a $1000 guitar but at less than a tenth of that price, no one should expect it to. But it sounds far better than any sub-$100 has a right to sound. I'm extremely happy with it. It was very playable right out of the box, but I've made a couple of adjustments (truss rod, and saddles), and now it plays as nicely as any of my more expensive guitars. In fact, since it arrived, my three other guitars (all in the $600 range), haven't seen much use. Why wear out expensive guitars as you practice with the Glarry sounds so nice, plays so well, and looks just as good? My hat is off to Glarry. I have no problem recommending them to friends and family. In fact, I've done just that, and one family member bought two of them and seems to be very happy with the purchase.
