It comes prepped for shipping, so the strings are attached, but loose. I had a idea how to set it up, but still needed to look up which direction the bridge sits online. It's a $240 cello.. I assume it doesn't sound perfect, but I think it sounds really good for the price.

I was excited to learn of this solid wood cello at such an affordable price, and was not disappointed. Shipping was speedy and packaging perfect for a safe delivery. I'm a beginner on the cello, but experienced on other instruments, and it sounds good to me—I'll have to wait to get confirmation from others, but am very happy with my purchase!

The cello itself is outstanding for the price!! considering that most student cellos in store are around 5,000$, this was a real deal! It is very well made, the constructing is sound, and the pegs didn't snap off! It came with everything advertised and in excellent shape.

I will say this... It was packed very, very well and every inch of this beauty was protected! I have named her ("Miss Cello") she looks just like the ones in the music store. She even sounds like the one I tried out at the music store. I'm certain there are differences other than the price, (I could not have afforded the $1000 store price tag) however, she is one fine and solidly made cello. My daughter loved this cello it's very nicely put together we had to take it in to get toned and get some strings put on the only thing it's missing is rosin comes all dried out and u have to get a new one

Played 14+ years ago, and picking up the Cello again. This is a perfect starter to get back into the flow again. For now this is a great fit for me. For the price it was well worth it.

My wife is thrilled with this. It is affordable enough that there need not be the expectation that she will one day be an expert at the instrument; something that she enjoys is enough. This may not be as good as more expensive cellos, but for someone who had nothing and no expectations, it is wonderful.

I am very pleased with this purchase. It is the 4th instrument from Glarry I have purchased, and I have never been let down. I cannot imagine a better starter instrument. I agree with other reviews, the bow is a little hard to rosin up, and the fine tuners are a little hard to tune. But these are minor considerations. Not only are their electric basses a superb value, but a fine instrument like this is likewise surprisingly good value for the money. I plan to buy an instrument for a friend too after they tested mine. If you were long term player this one might not be adequate for you but honestly not sure why, it seems to be just fine to me. You would have to pay a lot more to get a tiny bit more quality, in my view. But I am not an experienced player so I wouldn't be the one to really know, just my hunch as a long term electric bass player. My experience is that this company will not let you down. Even the shipping is prompt - and was included in the price, amazingly.

You might need to use a very small file to cut the bridge grooves a bit deeper, I did. The bow is OK, but it's definitely a bargain bow. I would recommend getting better rosin as well. Build quality is very good for the price. Finish is also very good. My only complaint is the fine tuners, which are not very good, and felt a bit "gritty" until I cleaned ...

I totally recommend it. Was a Birthday gift for my 15 year old son, he is happy to have it and so do I .?????? Exactly as described…It is perfect, has a bright color, easy to ensamble, and bag is perfect. Sounds great, was super easy to set up and tune. The only complaint is that the rosin isn't so great, but luckily he has access to better rosin at school.

I'm new to this but it met my expectations! It was easy to set up. I am impressed with the sound and how it is built. Apparently the transition from guitar to cello is not so easy thoug. Rich sounds if you do it properly. Love it!!!

I'm a professional violist, so I know enough to say this is perfect for my son to start cello. The whole set up is really well-done and is as expected. It's fine! Sturdy, well-made, student quality cello. Everything came in great shape and as expected. Very happy with this and it's way cheaper than renting. Totally worth it.

Needs to be tuned, but besides that my daughter loves it. There are no problems with the design or defects. This gives her a chance to see if she really wants to play one before moving on to a more expensive professional one.

I recommend that if you don't want to spend upwards of like 3,000 - 10,000 and don't know where to start, This is a excellent thing to start out on. Also in the future you could always upgrade to something professional.
