Very impressed with this short scale bass. Arrived quickly and in working order. Decent tone and playability. At the price point it's a steal.

I ordered a Glarry 30in GB Electric Bass Short Scale guitar. I was not happy with its condition. The neck is completely unfinished, raw wood. The wood is so rough that it makes the palm of my hand sore. The volume is extremely soft, even at wide open. The fit of the neck to the body is way off, extremely poor craftsmanship. I have asked for Glarry to remedy this situation, because I bought it, eager to start playing. Very unsatisfied.

I really like this short scale bass, and I'm very glad I bought it. The only problem it had was the output level being VERY VERY low compared to my Glarry GIB 4 and 5 string basses. I got a Musiclily hot rails pickup to replace the original pickup and now it's a perfect instrument. I hope Glarry will re-evaluate their pickup choice for this model.

I loved this instrument. I think it is as good or better than the Fender Squire Bronco which it copies. It came nicely packaged with no damage. Neck and frets were smooth with no rough edges. Volume and tone controls worked well and the sound of the pickup was mellow. The short scale was perfect for my hands. But, I decided to return this instrument, not because of any lack of quality, but because I'm not really a bass player. Like most guitarists, I loved the bass also, but must admit that it wouldn't have much practical use in my guitar "arsenal" and would probably just sit around unused. A bit of arthritis in the clamping hand added to my decision. Nevertheless, if you've been thinking about a shorter scale bass, I would strongly encourage you to buy this one. It's about 100 dollars cheaper than its Fender counterpart and every bit the equal in quality. Let me stress again, I didn't return this item because of lack of quality. If you're looking for a nice Fender styled/sounding short scale bass, you will be pleased with this bass.

The only down side to that is that the wood is pretty soft, so be really careful not to strip any of the screws. i will probably switch most of them out to the next larger size and length, just to make everything a little stronger.

A bit about me first. I have been playing bass since 1990 and have played in live bands and done studio work. I have built and maintained my own instruments for over half that time as well. I bought this bass as a mod platform. I wasn't expecting much, but did expect more than what I received. Out of the box, the neck was decent, no issues. Frets were good with no sprout or sharp edges. A bit about me first. I have been playing bass since 1990 and have played in live bands and done studio work. I have built and maintained my own instruments for over half that time as well. I bought this bass as a mod platform. I wasn't expecting much, but did expect more than what I received. Out of the box, the neck was decent, no issues. Frets were good with no sprout or sharp edges. Action is a bit high and intonation completely out on all four strings out of the box. Tuning machines are basic but solid. Body is very beautiful from the front, but has an odd pattern in the wood grain on the back. Went to plug it in and the jack immediately fell inside the body cavity. Nice! Started undoing pickguard screws and found at least half of them already stripped and had to just pull them out with pliers. Pickguard screw at end of pickguard by jack is a full inch long...not a pickguard screw, most likely a bridge screw. Wondering if one of my bridge screws is a pickguard screw. When I begin mods, I will find out. Pickup hole in pickguard is in the wrong place, shifted too far to the treble side. This results in at least a 50% drop in volume on the E string compared to other strings. Has a bit of neck dive, not a lot, but some. Had to tighten the strap buttons to test that as both were very loose out of the box. The gig bag is nothing but a dust cover. No protection. The strap is hardly deserving of the name. Didn't even try the cheap cable. Overall, as a mod platform, it is probably fine for what I am going to be doing with it...that remains to be seen. As an instrument to play right out of the box? I'm not sure I could recommend it. Not with the issues mine had.

Got this item as a gift for my son, who already plays bass. He absolutely loves it and is learning to play it with Rocksmith. Great for beginners.
