I am genuinely shocked at how good this bass is. It's not perfect for sure, but it's amazing for the money and punches hard above its price point.
Issues: sharper frets near the higher register. Neck wood was also a little rough near the heel (a little Scotchbrite fixed it quick). VERY resistive tuners, though granted their stability is great.

That's it. That's the entire list of issues. All else it needed was a minor relief in the neck, I haven't even put new strings on it. It sounds really, really good, very zingy or very mellow when you need it (you know, like a Jazz bass). The pole pieces are a little misaligned with the string spacing but there isn't any change in the sound.
I bought this to mod and swap everything out, but the electronics are basically perfect. I feel a little bad doing it! I'm still going to (I'm not going for a Jazz Bass sound with my build, stay tuned online for when I finish it wink wink), but for the time being it sounds right in line with a high-end Jazz Bass. I'm definitely keeping these electronics for a rainy day.
Not to mention, this thing is SO light! It's about as light as my Bronco bass, which is absolutely absurd! If you're in doubt about this bass, don't be. It's a wonderful bass, and I could easily see it being three times what it costs.
Plus, it looks awesome. The sample photos don't do the finish justice.
