I liked the affordable price and the look of the blue sunburst jazz bass. My plan was to completely modify it which I did. I sanded and stained the neck a darker color, applied several coats of polyurethane and a final coat of paste wax. The electronics were upgraded to alpha pots, braided wires and alnico5 pickups, a new wilkinson brass saddle bridge, black machine tuners, bone nut, black jazz bass volume/tone knobs, flat wound strings and a tortoise shell pickguard. While this instrument is completely fine for a beginner, I am more of a seasoned player and was up to the challenge of a fun project. Could I suggest maybe selling only bare body and neck without parts at a lower price which people could build their own instrument to their personal taste? Also, the internet is a wonderful place for information if someone knows where to look, but a beginner might not understand how or even if they need to adjust their truss rod or bridge saddles. Perhaps an included instruction booklet might also be useful as these instruments are catering towards beginners. I also modified a Glarry white P bass in a similar way but less extensive as the jazz. I had a lot of fun with these projects.

While it's a little rough (literally) around the edges, this bass is definitely a good value for the money. The good: the body is light, the neck is straight, electronics work as they should, and the frets are dressed better than guitars I've paid ten times the price for. The not so good: the body may be a bit too light as there's some neck dive, the control plate has some scuffs and scratches, the paint on the back of the top horn has some bubbling, the finish on the back of the neck near the body is a bit rough and needs sanding, and the fretboard was extremely dry out of the box. Even with these deficiencies, this is an excellent value for the price I paid.

Anyway, there was a loose wire unsoldered to one of the pots. Bought a cheap solder gun and got reimbursed for it ( thankfully, thanks Glarry! ). But it still shorts out at times if I'm sitting and leaning downward. Hey I used to be a pretty darn good solderer at a camera shop. Maybe I would get a 200-300 dollar bass next to play out with. I was skeptical at 1st but said "hey i need a cheap bass just to play with from time to time" (my focus in the last fee months has been guitar). I had a 5 string I got rid of to reinvest into guitar. Now for $89 this plays well. Only issue is a wierd ring on the G string when played open but I'm gonna do some adjusting. The pickups work great. The knobs great. Bass looks and sounds great but one the neck pickup is slightly imbedded into the pickguard. I haven't attempted to fix it myself yet but I may in the future.

This is my first bass, and I love it. Perfect price for learning the instrument! It comes with strings (that's how beginner I am). Took it to some friends who play professionally and they all agreed that it is a great quality for the price. No problems or defects. Three other friends are planning to purchase this as a secondary instrument (they mainly play keys, drums, etc.).

I've seen $130 Rogue basses with two-piece glued necks! Pure junk. Frets are well dressed with zero sprout. Arrived detuned as it should. Custom packaging ensured safe delivery. I ordered after hours on Friday before the holiday weekend and had it in hand by Wednesday! I made a few slight adjustments for string height and intonation as the bridge had obviously not been setup. Standard procedure for any new instrument, and easily accomplished with the included tools. If you are not familiar with setup, check out Dave's World Of Fun Stuff on YouTube. The toughest choice was color. It had to be either the dark blue or the burlywood (wife calls it girlywood LOL). The black trim killed the blue for me. Solid transparent blue would be killer. I'm a 40-year veteran bassist and I'm extremely happy with my glarry precision bass and Jazz Bass. I cannot believe the sound and quality I received at such a small price. I will be using these bases in live performances as well as some recordings along with my music man and Fender basses. I also purchased a Telecaster for my son and he's extremely happy with it. Pretty ridiculous value & quality with this product! I only wished I could have had more than only two color choices when I order last month Out the box, it was clean, no dings ripples or chips. just needs to be set up like any other bass before your get the "best" tone from the instrument, the GJazz Bass is ridiculous quality craftmanship & was very easy to "set up" straight out the box. Other than a dead muffled sounding E string, I could find no problems with the bass after changing the string to an Ernie Ball 105. There were no sharp fret ends on the neck and the bass needed very little setup. Tuners seem solid and the overall sound of the bass is fine. The pickup cavities were not centered with respect to the strings - the neck pickup should have been located 1 mm further towards the G string side, and the bridge pickup should have been located 2 mm towards the E string side. The action was too high even when the bridge saddles were in the lowest position, so a shim was needed in the neck pocket to lower it. There were a few frets that needed to be dressed a little ...

The bass is good for the price, though the one I received had some issues. The pickup cavities were not centered with respect to the strings - the neck pickup should have been located 1 mm further towards the G string side, and the bridge pickup should have been located 2 mm towards the E string side. The action was too high even when the bridge saddles were in the lowest position, so a shim was needed in the neck pocket to lower it. There were a few frets that needed to be dressed a little to prevent buzzing, but the neck is overall straight, and feels solid (like it won't need lots of truss rod adjustment to maintain the action at the desired height). One of the height adjustment screws used for the bridge saddles needed to be replaced as the hex wrench wouldn't insert fully (because of a little metal burr that was preventing that). There were a few noticeable dents in the side of the neck and fingerboard near the nut, and the body wood at the neck pocket had some pretty rough edges were it thins out. I mentioned these concerns to Glarry, and received partial compensation for my purchase which was fair, in light of the defects and the work I needed to do to get the bass in shape to play. Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase - especially with the customer support I received.

Very pleased with this base. The neck has a nice satin finish that feels great and plays well. Only had to adjust the string height a little bit. The burlywood finish looks great. Great value.

It was wrapped and packaged perfectly. No marks anywhere. The only problem was the input jack was loose. But most guitars will have the same problem. Put a star washer in and problem fixed. The sound is very good considering the price. I plan on changing the pickups which should sound like my Fender Jazz Bass.
