Good bass for the money!

Note: this review is coming from a complete beginner getting into the bass for the very first time. Overall, this bass serves its intended purpose. I was able to play it after a bit of adjustment right out of the box, the amp that it came with sounded decently enough, and overall it sounds pretty good. Here are some caveats however. Let me be clear that I'm writing this from the viewpoint that this is aimed at those maybe wanting to get into the instrument for the first time with a fresh set of eyes. Immediately out of the box, it was out of tune, though that is to be expected. After tuning, I noticed a lot of rattling of the strings on the frets. This required a lot of adjustment of the truss rod, which beginners might not be aware of and might be discouraged thinking it was on them. Secondly, after playing and practicing for a while, the inner joint on my left index finger discovered that the frets are indeed quite sharp and protruding - enough to draw blood after a few slides. Would I recommend this to a friend? Sure, though I would also bear in mind the caveats listed above and wouldn't necessarily recommend playing as-is without a little bit of work put into it.

I am very surprised with this Glarry GJazz Bass Guitar. I wasn't expecting much for the price, but the guitar blew me away. Sounds excellent, neck is straight and smooth and excellent finish. No fret buzzing at all, and this is with all the original included components, no upgrades yet. My only complaint is the neck is very thick, if Glarry could get the neck down to jazz bass specs, that would be great. All in all, great bass for the beginner or the pro. Thank you Glarry!

I have played guitar for nearly 60 years. As of late I have been starting to do some recording in a small home studio. I have never played bass, so I decided I would try to do my own bass lines. Ihave a 1970 fretless Fender P bass that was my brothers. I can't play it. So I was looking for an inexpensive neck and found this for less than the neck. The bridge and saddles worked fine, not high dollar stuff but functional. I received the guitar in cold dry weather which is responsible for the few fret sprouts. The frets were level so I dressed the ends, lowered the nut a bit, set the action and it plays great. Buy this bass. If you cant do it, have set up and you will love it. Any new guitar I have ever owned needed set up some worse than others. That's why I learned to do it. This is truly a great value, shipping was fast and best of all I can play it and it records well. Great job Glarry. I don't know how you do it for the money.

As a guitar player for more than 50 years and the owner of a Fender Jazz Bass, I have to say I am very pleased and surprised at the quality of my Glarry Gjazz Bass. Other than a dead muffled sounding E string, I could find no problems with the bass after changing the string to an Ernie Ball 105. There were no sharp fret ends on the neck and the bass needed very little setup. Tuners seem solid and the overall sound of the bass is fine. I now have the strat copy and the Jazz bass . For the price these are great starter or mod instruments. Very pleased and would definitely purchase from them again . The bass needed very little adjustment and I'm keeping it as is ! Thanks again .

I've been playing bass for 10 years and with back issues now, my Fender is too heavy now, After reading reviews and watching videos, I said why not. I does need a little setup but any bas out the box does. I was surprised at the build quality. No fret bite. wow..Cant say that for the $300 Ibanez I played at the store. The tone is rich and deep. This weight is perfect. only 8 pounds. Really makes a difference on the back. Band mates love it. I only wish the blue was a little brighter but it is a ...

This is my first bass and I could not be more impressed. The finish, build quality and sound are all unbelievable for such a reasonably priced instrument. I highly recommend this guitar to both beginners and intermediate players!

I bought this bass/amp combo for my son as a Christmas present. He hinted he would like a bass and since I didn't want to spend a lot on something he might never play this was perfect. It came just as described and was packaged very well. He tuned it after opening and was playing in just a few minutes. The finish looked nice, much nicer than I'd have expected for the money. He's hardly put it down since Christmas morning and really enjoys it !! I'm certainly no expert about musical instruments b ...

I think this bass is great. got it before stated delivery date. needed very little setup.intonation was very close, neck was great. will change out the nut and strings after a while. tuned very easy.

The bass was packaged well with styrofoam all around it. I read several reviews and lubed the tuners before trying to tune it. The neck was very straight but for me the action was too high. I had to file the nut and lower the saddles. I had problems with only one fret buzzing out on the A string. I fixed it with some very light sanding on the fret in question. It sounds very good through my amp. A little bit heavy on the neck side but not too bad. The body is very light and the finish was great. ...

There were a couple of fish eyes in the paint on back, but I found no other defects The neck was straight, bridge was straight, nut was cut perfectly. Since I'm not a great player (mediocre would be an apt description of my abilities) and bass is not a primary instrument, I did not want to buy anything expensive for my first bass. So, when I saw this at such a price, I could not pass it up this time. I had seen many inexpensive bass guitars with a P/J pickup configuration (split coil neck, single coil bridge, ala Precision bass and Jazz bass respectively) , but I wanted a straight Jazz pickup se ...

I've wanted a Jazz style bass for quite a while. Since I'm not a great player (mediocre would be an apt description of my abilities) and bass is not a primary instrument, I did not want to buy anything expensive for my first bass. So, when I saw this at such a price, I could not pass it up this time. I had seen many inexpensive bass guitars with a P/J pickup configuration (split coil neck, single coil bridge, ala Precision bass and Jazz bass respectively) , but I wanted a straight Jazz pickup set. I got it with this instrument. I some ways I was disappointed, in others I was pleased. The disappointment came in the neck shape and size, and, to a lesser degree, the electronics. First, this has a very big neck, very fat, very wide. I was looking for the narrow neck of a Jazz type bass, this is not it. That being said, it is well made, and quite solid. Even with the bigger neck, I have little problem banging out notes on this up and down. Second, this is expected at the price, the pickups are quite micro phonic and a little noisy with some overdrive. The main reason for this is they are not wax potted which is quite reasonable for a bass in this price range. A simple pickup upgrade would fix this. The good. It has the Jazz bass growl and mid range punch I was looking for out of a bass, and with a single coil, Jazz style, middle (or neck, depends on how you say it and what you call it) it does not have the smooth boomy sound of a P-style bass pickup, much tighter and more mid range sound. The setup is good enough to play, but it could be better, again, this is to be expected on such a low priced instrument, room for improvement. The fit and finish are very good, no issues that I have found as of yet. I love the natural, unpainted, look of the body, reminiscent of the F-type Jazz basses from the '70s. I am an experienced tech with as soldering iron and have replaced many, many pickups in my guitars over the years, haven't opened it up yet. Overall, this is good stuff.

The neck pocket could be a little tighter, the pick guard has one little spot thats not perfect and the rout for the bridge puckup isnt perfect but none of that really matters. It sounds really deep, warm and transparent with no ground noise when both single coils are the same volume. It feels especially great to hold or stand with becau ...

I was very eager to get my hands on one of these guitars, as I had seen a few YouTube unboxing videos. I was not disappointed. It arrive quickly and in perfect condition. I quickly tuned it up (not set it up as the was done already). I am not gonna tell you that this is a good guitar for the price, I'm gonna tell you that this is a good guitar!!! I am thinking of going back for the P Bass version

Glarry is the best. I was led to them by Max of GuitarMax on youtube. And he was right a ridiculously low price for an awesome guitar. I will always buy from Glarry because they sell guitars that other companies sell for twice or three times as much at a mere fraction of the price. Do yourself a favor buy one today you won't be disappointed. Glarry Rocks!!!!
