This bass is shockingly awesome (for the price). One thing I will note with cheap instruments, is you are ususally reaching into a grab bag of mysteries. You can get a perfectly fine bass that feels great like me, or you could recieve a crappy cable harness, bad pickups, or just outright bad craftsmanship. This bass is shockingly awesome (for the price). One thing I will note with cheap instruments, is you are ususally reaching into a grab bag of mysteries. You can get a perfectly fine bass that feels great like me, or you could recieve a crappy cable harness, bad pickups, or just outright bad craftsmanship. I can happily say I've experienced none of the badness in the line above. The bass was setup with massively high action when I recieved it, probably for shipping protection reasons. After I got it set up, tightened the truss rod a bit, levelled the pickups, and fixed the intonation and action, this thing plays awesome. There are a few buzzy frets, but that can be fixed with a mallet. Just remember, any issues you find, are likely to be so minor and fixable, it can easily be written off with the price tag!

All of these basses (I bought 3) play great and are excellent vehicules for upgrades. It took me 10 minutes to get used to the thicker neck. This was the problem for the Jazz Bass only.

For the price it's a good instrument. Tuners are a little hard to turn, pickups not high output. Not a very resonant bass, strap button fell off I repaired that. Needs setup I'll buy better strings before I do that. Fretboard it dry frets are sharp at ends and not polished. Nut is plastic and sharp ends. Bridge is good. Neck is very heavy not balanced very well. Overall not terrible for $80 but needs work. Fortunately I have lots of experience in the luthier field.

Wonderful company answered my questions before purchasing and when I decided on the GJazz in burlywood it was shipped very fast and got here in great shape. This was my second Glarry and both are exceptional in playability and finish.

I've seen $130 Rogue basses with two-piece glued necks! Pure junk. Frets are well dressed with zero sprout. Arrived detuned as it should. Custom packaging ensured safe delivery. I ordered after hours on Friday before the holiday weekend and had it in hand by Wednesday! I made a few slight adjustments for string height and intonation as the bridge had obviously not been setup. Standard procedure for any new instrument, and easily accomplished with the included tools. If you are not familiar with setup, check out Dave's World Of Fun Stuff on YouTube. The toughest choice was color. It had to be either the dark blue or the burlywood (wife calls it girlywood LOL). The black trim killed the blue for me. Solid transparent blue would be killer. Ok I just received my Glarry Jazz bass. First and foremost it looks great. Second and most importantly, the fret edges are smooth as butter. Amp is good. Little fret buzz but that can be fixed easy enough. Love it. Burlywood is the style I picked .

Get one! Sounds great, the pickups are easily the standout. Great sounding bass and playable. I also like the practice amp it came with, perfect for an apartment. If you want to start playing this is the way to go. The durability of the construction is somewhat questionable, about my only criticism. She might not be here for a long time, but she's here for a good time! Now if you'll excuse me I've got some funky jams to kick out!

As I expected! Very good for the price. Great starting point for anyone who wants to jump into bass. However, quality control could have been better. Some of the fret finishing are rough, so when I play for an extended time, I usually get some minor marks or scratches on the palm and fingers. More, some frets are not leveled with the surrounding frets, for example, my 13th frets are higher than the 12th, so when I play G on the 12th fret - G string, I ended up getting G#. That happens at some p ...

That happens at some points around the neck which is very annoying, I thought my fingering was wrong but then I realize I will never get it right because that note will never sound, until I sand and polish that 13th fret. Also, the output is kinda weak, but it's true for a sub $100 bass. Will have to work around the amp and effects to get a good sound. For $79, this is a great deal! Throw in some of your guitar tech skills if you have some tools lying around, then you can turn this one very very playable.

I bought the Glarry Jazz bass hoping to be able to make it functional. What I got when the guitar arrived was a total surprise. The bass was beautiful. The control knobs worked smoothly and the pickups sounded great.The finish sparkled and shined and the set up was spot on except for a little intonation work. Took me all of five minutes and the Glarry Jazz bass played in tune and played like butter. I found only one flaw in the whole guitar, the head end of the fret board was not cut straight b ...

For the price it was like WOW! I can't wait to see what I get next time from Glarry Music. I'm thinking to buy the Glarry GT602 41 inch Dreadnought Spruce Front Cutaway Zebrano Back Folk Acoustic Guitar Natural. (Or maybe they will send one to me for review??) When I do get one I will do a review.

Wanted an inexpensive bass and amp to play with my sons (guitar and drummer). Had to make some height adjustments to the strings to get rid of fret buzz. Amp was not working but after opening it up, found a connector unplugged to circuit board and that corrected the problem. Overall satisfied with bass and amp for the price. Can't wait to hear the tone with a better amp - not a lot of low end on this little one, but wouldn't expect anything different.

This all started with the purchase of a Glarry P Bass, Just wanted to see what you get for such a cheap price, outta the box played well and had nice sound...hums at high volume, but iI sanded the neck and fret ends, and put on a set of Fender Studio bass roundwounds , and this thing PLAYS and Sounds AWESOME!! Had friends play it who own Name brand P basses and they loved it. After that I bought a Strat Model 6 string, Gorgeous Natural wood finish, looks and plays like a guitar 5x it's value ! ...

I'm a 40-year veteran bassist and I'm extremely happy with my glarry precision bass and Jazz Bass. I cannot believe the sound and quality I received at such a small price. I will be using these bases in live performances as well as some recordings along with my music man and Fender basses. I also purchased a Telecaster for my son and he's extremely happy with it. I'm looking forward to receiving a fretless bass and a 5-string bass from you all. Thanks again for all you do for us.

My new j-bass arrived promptly and in great condition. After a minor setup procedure and a bit of polishing, it was time to play. I was immediately impressed with the tonal variations produced through my amp with slight adjustments with the tone and volume controls. I also really like the feeling and playability of the neck. I recently purchased this bass. When it came in, the pickups were damaged, but customer service gave me no problems. They sent me a replacement. The replacement came in, and I am hard pressed to find anything wrong with it. I adjusted the action and tuned it up, and I was playing the bass. It sounds great and feels great. The neck is straight and isn't as fat as the Glarry Precision Bass (which I also have). No dead frets. No grounding issues. You do have to remove the strings and the pick gua ...

You do have to remove the strings and the pick guard, in order to remove the plastic covering the pick guard, but you have to do that at some point anyway to use steel wool to buff the frets, and also wipe down the fret board, but otherwise this product was ready to play out of the box with very little setup required.

Okay, its very inexpensive. It looks very nice, ie, paint, frets, hardware. Heres the other edge of the sword. Mine arrived with action at the 12th fret almost 3/4 inch high. I had to remove the neck and finish leveling out the pocket where someone at the factory had started already. After that there was some fret filing, truss rod adjustments and saddle adjustments to make. For me, no big deal. For someone who has never done these tasks it would have been the end of the road. So far I have work ...

So far I have worked a bass and a 6 string guitar from Glarry. The parts and pieces make a decent instrument. If you have never worked on an instrument like this though, you'd probably give up unless your desire to play outweighed any flaws in your instrument. The pickups and electronics are cheesy, but record well. The finish is gorgeous. Fretwork is passable. Tuning keys, while not confidence inspiring, work well after you tighten them up. Bottom line, aimed at a market that will probably not continue on in their musical education. I am a 50 year plus veteran player and sometime luthier and this works well for me.

As much as I'd wanted a bass and another instrument to play, never could justify spending 3 or 4 hundred bucks on a instrument that wasn't my main instrument, so for this price I've already had more that $100 worth of fun since I got it. Furthermore, this is more for guitar players than specific to this bass....I think it improves your playing. It makes you stretch the fretboard because those easier to reach notes on the extra strings on the guitar are not there. But you'll be able to apply that to your playing. And any guitar player knows your tone can influence and inspire your playing---and the bass notes playing bass do just that. They make you want to get funky. And it also improves your rhythm, in some ways you are another percussion instrument, but able to play distinct notes. One more note on the quality of the instrument... I think its so well built I plan to order one of the glarry Tele style guitars in the very near future.

I spent hours possibly the whole day looking at reviews and I jumped in thinking there were going to be minor defects but at the same time really excited about getting both a bass and electric guitar for less than $170. I really wanted an acoustic guitar from glarry guitars as well but i had ordered a yamaha f335 instead. To my suprise Glarry had sent me my bass guitar practically the next day (during this crisis that's impressive). Even more surprising was everything was perfect the bass guitar ...

I mentioned the yamaha company because they are "supposed to be" pretty good brand and my guitar came in longer than expected which was expected but it had part of the wood on the body lifting and my glarry electric had arrived that same day as well and It too was in perfect condition just like my bass guitar and i couldn't help but think this company is even better than yamaha it delivers on time has great products and I have yet to see anything wrong with this company i highly recommend you buy from them. I've told my friends to buy as well you can't beat their prices and quality. Their slogan needs to be "I don't know how they do it". Thank you glarry guitars for making guitars great again.
