Nice little short scale bass. I had it professionally set-up after purchasing it and it plays really well. My daughter loves it and it's a great first bass for her. I wish the amplifier that was sold with it had the same build quality (the amp broke 7 months into ownership, just outside of the 6-month warranty period).

Im surprised of this little guy. Im a small person and it fits great in my hands. It has some rough edges and minor details that need adjustment like the action but nothing out of the ordinary. The gig bag that comes with it is pretty cheap and barely fits the bass. Sound wise I tested it and once the action was fixed sounded clearer, nice tone for chords but nothing too crazy. For the price I guess is great for kids and beginners.

I bought this bass for a school in the Philippines, and it is a perfect size for the students, and after setup it plays and sounds great. Note the "after setup" part. The intonation was so bad out of the box that I thought the frets were misplaced, and considered returning it as defective. It needed a TOTAL setup, as it wasn't even close, and was totally unplayable out of the box. Truss rod, saddle height and intonation all required major adjustment. Also the nut was a bit high, but I don't ...

As a woman in my 70's, I bought this kid's bass after seeing several positive reviews where I could see an adult playing it, who said it could be good for older folks. I'm taking a jazz group and decided to replace my u-bass with this. My husband is a professional bassist and I'm a pianist. We set out to find a short scale bass that our daughter could use to learn the bass. The bass guitars we own are way too big for her to be comfortable with as she's still a young child. After reading tons of reviews and watching so many videos, we decided to try this one. So we ordered it, albeit with some trepidation. We received it yesterday and my husband is surprised that it is actually better than he thought it would be. It does need a professional setup to make it true tonality wise, but he can do that himself. However, one could actually begin learning on this instrument even without that. One of the frets does have a sharp edge, also something that is easily taken care of. He plugged it into his Fender Bassman 800-watt amp and he was happy with the sound he got with this micro bass. We chose the natural finish because I am thinking of adding a dark blue cosmic vinyl skin to make it into a very nice bass for our daughter to use for learning & studying the bass guitar. Overall, my husband and I think that it was worth what we paid for it. The adjustments are not a deal-breaker as he likes the challenge. And this is a real instrument! There are several well-known artists who use a short scale bass due to the difference in sound as compared to a standard bass guitar. So we're keeping this one and hope that it will become a part of our musical family.

This bass arrived in less than perfect shape due to a shipping snafu during literally the hottest days of the year! The fingerboard was extremely dry, and the neck was bowed. After a week of allowing the bass to acclimate to its new home, making daily small adjustments to the truss rod, it was brought into decent relief. Daily applications of Neck Honey brought back the fretboard to acceptable condition. I leveled, crowned, and polished the frets. All of this effort was rewarded with a very ea ...

After the basics of playability had been addressed I decided that it would be nice to have a more gutsy tonal palate on tap, so I added a MusicMan-style humbucker in place of the bridge pickup,coil split wiring, a five-way switch, master volume and separate push-pull tone pits that select caps for different tone coloring. Probably not a project that a novice would want to undertake, but it does provide an example of what can be done with this bass. The basic "bones" are good, materials solid, fit and finish is OK - nothing to complain about at this price point. Good instrument for kids or adults looking for a short scale bass.

Neither I or my grand daughter have guitar experience, so this purchase was based more on wants, needs and price for an introduction. It must have been a winner! She got it out of the box and started to play it immediately, and her mother indicates it sounds very good. (I am in another state). She loves the Red color, and says it had no visual imperfections or issues. From order to arrival was less than 5 days.

As a girl who is more on the petite end of the spectrum I can say that this bass works pretty good from a beginners perspective its my first bass and ive been able to reach all the frets just fine. Although its definitely up to a standard far past beginner I have enjoyed its size and weight discounting the non even distribution there of.

I am working on some summer projects well away from my studio and struggled finding someone who could lower the bridge and improve the action on the acoustic electric bass available. On a hunch, I bought a whole new guitar hoping the action was better and it is both perfect and adjustable. Easier to play than my full size guitars as the frets are closer together. Sounds great. I'll be buying another one for the other coast soon and maybe a third to stay in the back of the car with the Pig Nose a ...

7 year old loves it! This is not a toy. This is a real bass and guess what? It sounds amazing. Set it up to your liking and this thing is a ton of fun to play with. Has pickup volumes and so far, no issues. We truly love this bass.

A Glarry short scale bass in natural finish was delivered on time. All it needed was a setup like any new bass. A couple fret ends needed a little filing and action lowered, but that is no big deal. I decided to put flat wound strings on it. What a deal.

I purchased this childs/beginners bass specifically for camping. It's hilariously bad, but it's perfect for what I want. And I know how to fix most of the problems to make it work correctly. I'm currently thinking of this more like a kit than a finished instrument. * The body of the instrument has a *very* thin layer of color and no lacquer or varnish, and there are a lot of cross-grain scratches which can't be fixed without removing the dye. The scratches are the only non-repairable flaw. ...

I purchased this childs/beginners bass specifically for camping. It's hilariously bad, but it's perfect for what I want. And I know how to fix most of the problems to make it work correctly. I'm currently thinking of this more like a kit than a finished instrument. * The body of the instrument has a *very* thin layer of color and no lacquer or varnish, and there are a lot of cross-grain scratches which can't be fixed without removing the dye. The scratches are the only non-repairable flaw. There is also "fuzz" from routing the edges of the instrument. I used fine sandpaper to knock off the rough spots -- it removed some of the layer of color giving it a "weathered look" -- then sprayed on a couple coats of matte varnish. * None of the chambers in the body have any shielding, which can be fixed with copper tape. Easy, just time-consuming. Don't forget to add a grounding wire for the shielding. * Setup - every single adjustment was wrong, but easy to fix, and most of the tools needed are included: The nut height was wildly high... so high that low F would go sharp when fretted. This needs to be filed with a tiny, round "Swiss File," or work carefully with sandpaper. The truss rod was so tight it had the neck in a back-bow, causing huge amounts of string buzzing. Saddle heights were too low. Intonation was random, but at least the bridge is in the right place and can be adjusted. The pickups were sunk much too far into the body (like, 10 mm from the strings! Should be 3mm!) The narrow piece of foam wouldn't push them out when I tried to adjust the height. The included gig bag is a single layer of nylon, with no padding. I had low expectations for the gig bag and they were met. On a positive note, the tuners are surprisingly smooth, with a light touch from the 22:1 gear ratio. Nota bene: scale length is 25.5". This isn't mentioned in the description, and you need to know this if you plan to replace the strings at any time.

Fun, with surprisingly decent sound for the $ Body (while tiny) is much thicker than it could be - and considerably thicker than most full-sized instruments. Neck and fretboard are well made. Electronics and output jack are sub par.
