Strings and/or frets were dirty got my fingers and the fretboard all stained cannot remove it from neck and it looks ugly. Frets are very good at this price range, the setup was perfect no intonation problems as well as the strings action. I did swap the pickups(that was always the plan) and the guitar sounds just like a dream!. If this was a present it would be a hard pass definitely! In my context, this time it worked just fine for me. There were not Thinline Tele style guitars I could find at this price range used or new(I know new is impossible.). My next project is to install humbucker sized p90s pups into a Strat style body. I won't go Glarry for this one I know I can find a used Squier they have better tuners, necks and electronics at the same price range. I know that if Glarry is to improve its guitars quality the price will increase. Pickups are weak these are 5.4 Ohms(+/-) but sound good! If not for the microphonic issue, I would buy this one again. For a begginner :)

This is an update to my review. Glarry customer service contacted me apologize for the issues experienced with the dirty strings/frets and a 10$usd refund. I find this not only amazing but rare in the present times. I'm sure they will honor their offer and more importantly they will improve their products.

I would put 5 stars but there was only one issue. First let me say, the guitar is awesome. Strings are nice and strong. Smooth finish and sounds great. Shipped and delivered on time. Love the whole experience. Only issue I have is that the wood grain had chips underneath the varnish. Right in the front of the guitar. Assuming they varnished overtop of the chip marks instead of sanding them out first. Otherwise perfect

Always impressed. Looked great and played well right out of the box. My student loved it. The action is fine but he will be taking it to a luthier for very minor adjustment. He probably just wants to show it off.

I wanted to try a glarry and I liked the the look of the semihollow guitar. I found the guitar in good playable condition out of the box. It was well more than triple the cost. The finish was excellent and the sound was very good.

The positives outweigh the negatives with this guitar. I got the natural finish and it's beautiful and the pickups are very good and I will not change them, I have 7 Tellys and I know how a Telly is supposed to sound. The problem is the neck, it's a baseball bat and the position dots are painted on and began to smear as soon as i played it. Fortunately I had a spare Telly neck that matched the body color perfectly, I put on locking tuners and this guitar is a gem. If Glarry would provide a n ...

I just took my new guitar Saturday plugged it in and played it outdoors in the park with my band mates and it was perfect all I got was compliments you did a great job on this hollow telly other people have complained that maybe they had to get it set up or do whatever not me. I'm lending this instrument to a friend of mine while his are in repair so while it may not play it for a month or two it was an absolute success all I had to do was tune it up thank you

Looks fairly good. But even after having a local shop try and set it up for me, the action is incredibly high to the point it makes playing very difficult. Also very difficult to get in touch with customer support. The provided customer support email doesn't work and 10+ phone calls with no answer from the customer support number.

A quick review! I recieved the Semi Hollow Telecaster as advertised and has great bones for the $$$. Expect to do some or all othe following... The intonation was not quite right, andfound out that it was mainly because of the Plastic Nut being a bit too high which I could have filed and sanded but decided just to replace with a Fender Tele 42mm Bone Nut, and presto! :) Knew the guitar would probably have to be setup (Other reviews) and tweaked as most do, but I like doing that stuff. So I foll ...

The intonation was not quite right, andfound out that it was mainly because of the Plastic Nut being a bit too high which I could have filed and sanded but decided just to replace with a Fender Tele 42mm Bone Nut, and presto! :) Knew the guitar would probably have to be setup (Other reviews) and tweaked as most do, but I like doing that stuff. So I followed the YouTube videos using a 6 inch straight edge, feeler gages, micrometer while leaving the mfg strings on until Truss Rod adjustments settle then I'll fine tune. I did lower action and loosened strings to tighten Truss to help straighten the neck so as to help with lowering the action. All in all a nice configuration. Once figured out completely: 1. I plan to fine sand and polish the neck when removing the strings. 2. Shield all the Pup, and switch cavities against EMF with copper tape I have. May also replace the Neck Pup if it is lacking (as I have a few) but will wait and see at that stage of testing. 3. Replace tuners with Tulip period appropriate tuners and Regular Slinky Stings using 10mm to 9mm conversion bushings. 4. Replace OEM with Brass Bridge compensated saddles? Maybe later. UPDATE: (3 stars) Major issue found but after I had setup in the first review. 1. The Bolt On Neck scews were not seated straight, and were apparently hand drilled at an angle? (See pictures) 2. Also these screws were screwed threw the Basswood body and into the Maple neck. The Fix? Was to do like Fender does and drill Pilot holes the same size as screws through the body, this allowed just enough relief to allow the Neck to seat properly into the pocket and screw heads to set flush in the Bo ...

I did not want to send back because of all the time spent setting up before I noticed this when removing the neck to inspect. Sigh First review below and is when I gave it 5 stars I received the Semi Hollow Telecaster on time and as it was advertised, great bones for the $$$. However, you should plan to do some or all of the following... The basic intonation was a bit funky and not quite right, investigating I found out that it was mainly because of the Bridge barrel height and the plastic neck Nut also set too high which I could have just filed and sanded but decided to just to replace OEM Nut with a Fender Tele, 42mm Bone Nut for max sustain, and presto it DIALED RIGHT IN! :) I knew the guitar would probably have to be setup (Per other kind reviews and Randy Schartiger's setup tutorials like this: https://youtu.be/nJygtvdFj-E ) Randy's channel on How To Do Guitar Repair and or do Setups are all "On The Money" :) So find one and tweak as required. That is, if a person has time to learn basic luthier setups and is handy with inspection tools then this is for you. Use mfgs Allen keys, a 6 inch straight edge, feeler gages, and a micrometer while leaving the mfg strings on; after Truss Rod adjustments settled down, (noticed it had too much relief when I lowered the bridge and nut, so I loosened the strings and tightened the Truss Rod which worked. All in all a nice configuration. Once the guitar is figure out completely I plan to -1. Fine sand and polish the neck. 2. Shield all the cavities against EMF noise. 3. Replace the Bridge Pup bc it is micro phonic and tinny. 4. Replace tuners with Tulip retro style ones, while using 10mm to 9mm conversion bushings. 5. Restring with Reg. Slinky Stings because the stock strings sound like a Sitar. (Stock strings, corrosion I thought after watching this video: https://youtu.be/se0vKIQDBYs?list=WL 5. Replace OEM saddles with Brass compensated saddles, perhaps?

I ordered the guitar the 3rd, and it has arrived on the fifth, amazing. As the weather is cold, I will let it set overnight, however i was here when it arrived right off the truck. No dings or scratches to mention, no string buzz, but I will not tune it until it sets overnight. It has a lot of neck back bow, but that will easily be remedied with some neck relief adjusting the truss rod counter clockwise a 1/4" turn at a time. I will of course put some new strings on it. I am impressed with its l ...

I have read many reviews about glary guitars, people were always finding flaws with their instrument. I received mine and it was flawless..a beautiful guitar. The tuners were cheap as everyone else has stated. I replaced the tuners, added new fender strings, oiled the fretboard as well as the neck. I lowered the action and to my suprise the innotation was spot on.very happy with this guitar.

The guitar arrived safely and quick. The neck: good fret work, plays well kinda chunky, action was not bad. The body: very nice finish, nice binding. Now the bad: the bridge pick up doesn't work at all. Nothing but buzzing. I'm going to have to go under the hood and have a look. Hopefully it's a simple fix. How a guitar could pass a quality control inspection with a pickup not working is puzzling. Having about 3 hours playing time on this guitar, the neck looks like an older guitar. Good guitar ...

This is my second Glarry guitar. I bought the 502 acoustic over a year ago from Overstock. Both guitars are like the "Ford Escort" of guitars. Not the fanciest ride out there, but they will get you where you are going. Especially the semi-hollow Telecaster. The quality is excellent. The neck is straight, and the body is well made. The neck pickup sounds really good. I am not sure about the tuners yet, because I have only had the guitar a few days and I have had it in and out of the outdoors, so ...

I am not sure about the tuners yet, because I have only had the guitar a few days and I have had it in and out of the outdoors, so there have been temperature changes. I did lower the action some, but that was easy to do because Glarry supplied two wrenches with the purchase. There is a little fret sprout to be filed down but nothing that endangers your fingers or anything. Again, a minor fix. So, I am very happy with my purchase. I have not found anything particularly wrong with the guitar or any major deficiencies. It is very playable and it is a good guitar. The nicest thing about it is the price. If there is ever anything I wish to modify, it is a great platform for that. I could upgrade it if I chose and still have a very affordable guitar. I do have other, more-expensive guitars, including a Fender Tele, but I am not ashamed to hang the Glarry on the wall right beside it. It does have a chunkier neck than I am used to, but that is not a quality issue. That is just a personal preference. Based on this purchase, I will be buying additional Glarry's in the future. It is nice to be able to try out different types of guitars without breaking the bank. If you have any doubts about these guitars, then take my word for it - they are good, playable guitars.

You can run your hands down both sides of the fretboard and it's very smooth so a really nice surprise. In addition, the fretboard edges have a slight roundness to them so that adds to the comfort of the neck. The finish on the guitar is really good and the binding really adds a great look to this guitar. Well done Glarry! I found no blemishes on the finish of the guitar and all the controls worked right out of the box. The tuners are not the greatest but I changed the strings and they hold their tune fairly well. If I would do any upgrade it would be to the tuners. The intonation was really right on the money so that was another surprise. The action was a little high but not a problem to adjust with the allen wrench that Glarry provides. The pickups sound good with a good tone variation between the neck and the bridge. I love the white pearloid pickguard and the whole design of the guitar. There were a few dried glue areas around the F hole cutout but they came off easily with some guitar polish. All in all this is a great guitar for the money. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one!
