Upon initial inspection of the guitar when it arrived Friday, I found a large crack in the neck pocket. The guitar was shipped loosely packed in a flimsy single wedge shaped cardboard box. All the guitars I've received in the past have been double boxed to help protect from shipper handling. I immediately emailed Glarry to have the defective guitar returned and replaced. I haven't heard back at this point. Once this issue is resolved, I'll post an updated review.

This is my second yellow GTL semi-hollow, I returned the first for the same issue: the bridge is placed low and is mounted crooked. The first string is barely over the bridge pickup pole piece and the string through body holes are mostly covered by the bridge. It is easy to see how the bridge is rotated if you examine the distance between the top of the bridge plate and the bottom of the pickguard. I'm wary of budget guitars because many of them are essentially junk, but not so with Glarry. I've watched numerous YouTube reviews and most of them are quite positive. I have to say, they're being totally honest. There are tiny imperfections in the overall finish but nothing a person would notice without a very careful examination, and nothing that harms the sound or playability. In fact, the sound is so good it's hard to believe it's coming from a guitar in this price range ($119.99). Right out of the box, it has one of the better set-ups I've ever played and leaves me feeling like it's simply easier to play than guitars costing five times the price. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and have no reservations recommending Glarry guitars to others. I told a family member of my experience, and they've purchased two Glarry guitars on my recommendation. One was excellent right out of the box, and the other had some issues which my sister was able to fix on her own (she's fairly handy with tools). Glarry gets five-stars from me. I think they fully deserve it.

I received my guitar quicker than I expected. It was in fine condition upon arrival and I am completely satisfied with it. It plays, sounds, and looks great! Other than some possible fret and neck dressing needed, I think it's perfect!

I wouldn't really recommend for a beginner unless they know someone who can get it playable for them. There's very obviously a couple issues with my instrument right out of the box. The bridge is mounted crooked with the base side of the plate being higher than the treble side. Additionally the bridge pickup mounting had it so high it was physically touching the strings when I tried to lower the action. I spent about 4 hours on the neck. Mine had 3 high frets out of the box which I spot-leveled and recrowned and then I polished the rest of the frets to take out any tool marks they had some with. The nut had to be filed and cleaned up as the slots either needed to be adjusted or were just lazily cut in the first place. The strings that came on it were also especially bad, they left residue on my hands after just touching them. With all that said, if you know how to do the work to make it playable, it's a steal for the price. But if you're looking to buy your first guitar these probably aren't where you wanna end up unless you wanna pay a luthier an extra $60ish dollars just to set it up. Not even accounting for fret-work and nut filing. At that point it might be worth it to go for something like a squire tele that has a much better setup out of the box.

I was pleased with this guitar, unlike the acoustic i ordered a month or so ago, it needed a few minor adjustments and a change in strings. the biggest issue i see is in the bridge. the strings feed thru right under the springs and actually touch them. It hasn't caused any breaks yet, time will tell. the bridge pickup has a hum, im thinking it might be a bad ground, the neck pickup sounds ok, but overpowers the bridge, and when in the middle position it sounds muddy . the frets need dressing a ...

A very nice guitar for the price, there was some shipping damage from a fall so it could be packed better. As I had the neck off to Tru-Oil and am in the business i just fixed it. I'd estimate the padding from top to bottom was insufficient. I'm very impressed with the level of service on a product so inexpensive. You guys rock

I purchased the Glarry GTL in the color Red. The Guitar arrived in just a few days. Unfortunately, UPS manhandled the package, and left it unattended in the lobby of my apartment building! The shipping box was beat up and the otherwise flawless guitar had a chip in the lower edge. No matter that this guitar cost less than $120, it represents a beautiful musical instrument to me. Glarry Customer Service was fantastic and refunded me a portion of the sale price. For many years I've been doing my own guitar setups, including fret dressing if needed. The Glarry GTL came playable right out of the box. The setup was suitable for a beginner, but not to my Specs. I lowered the action using a 12 to 15 degree fretboard radius, and intonated the strings. That was it. The Guitar plays beautifully now. No rough frets and no sharp, overhanging fret ends. The pickups are balanced - more so than my US Made Fender Telecaster with Lace Sensors installed! I love the light weight of the GTL. It's easy on this old body. UPDATE 2022/05/02 I've owned the GTL Semi-Hollow for over a year now. A year ago I just couldn't adjust the guitar. These guitars are not built using seasoned wood. So it takes about a year for them to dry out and settle in. I left my GTL in a case with a light humidifier. Now, after a year the Neck Relief holds and the guitar stays in tune. I found the Neck Humbucker sounded very muddy with little high end response. The stock Humbucker measured 7956 Ohms. This is rather low for a Humbucker. B ...

UPDATE 2022/05/02 I've owned the GTL Semi-Hollow for over a year now. A year ago I just couldn't adjust the guitar. These guitars are not built using seasoned wood. So it takes about a year for them to dry out and settle in. I left my GTL in a case with a light humidifier. Now, after a year the Neck Relief holds and the guitar stays in tune. I found the Neck Humbucker sounded very muddy with little high end response. The stock Humbucker measured 7956 Ohms. This is rather low for a Humbucker. BTW, the stock Single-Coil, in the Bridge Position is a Ceramic Magnet pickup and measures 5733 Ohms. I replaced the Neck Humbucker with a Fender Humbucker from a Squier Bullet Mustang. I had them in my parts bin as I replaced the Mustang's stock pickups with P90s. The new Humbucker measured 9613 Ohms, and doesn't sport a metal cover. I also replaced the GTL's stock 250K Volume and Tone Controls with 500K Pots. And I replaced the stock 0.47mf Capacitor with a 0.22mf Capacitor. All these changes add up to increased punch and treble response from the Neck Humbucker Pickup. Finally, I applied three coats of Lemon Oil to the Neck and Fretboard. Wow! What a difference. Now the GTL not only plays well, it sounds great. Neck Pickup is rich and full toned. Bridge Pickup is bright as a Tele should be. Best of all, when Both Pickups are selected together the sound is just perfect. I enjoy playing my GTL better than playing my Vintage Fender MIJ Jerry Donahue Telecaster. When it did arrive, I found that two strings, while intonated correctly at open and 12th fret, were off at lower frets. Doing some research on line, this pointed to nut height. Comparing to my 'major label' guitar, there was at least an attempt at setup on this Glarry - none on the 'major label' Both instances gave me an opportunity to learn more about doing a setup on a guitar - never too old to learn here. Glarry did reply to an email offering to assist with cost of repair - I declined as it was not too expensive, and I learned. Bottom line, it took a lot longer than other orders to arrive. When it came, it needed work. Glarry seemed willing to help with work. After working on it, I really like the sound. Would recommend to intermediate player who wants that semi-hollow sound, and likes to tinker.

Sweet little guitar..... very light weight.... so would suit a younger player..... good to learn on..... Played straight out of the box after tuning...... May require minor tweaking to the truss rod & adjustment of the bridge to achieve perfect string height & intonation.... Blue coluur on the front blending into black on the back gives a nice look to the finish.... Very satisfied with the guitar in general for the price...... Now waiting for the Burning Fire sunset edition to come back in s ...

The honeymoon is over after half an hour.. The ashtray doesn't line up with the neck!!! High E tends to slide off the fret board above the 9th fret.I hope I can solve the problem, but, for beginners, they would probably give up guitars. I have to route out the pu cavity, and reposition the ashtray about 3/8ths of an inch, towards the bass side. While I'm at it, I'm gonna move it all forward, to fill in the space between the ashtray and scratch plate. In my opinion, this would be more work than s ...

This is my third Glarry guitar. And I tell you the quality is getting better and better. The fret ends are perfect. The finish is beautiful. And of course it sounds as good as it looks. The action was just a little high which is perfect for slide guitar and all I had to do was adjust the intonation, tune to open E and I am good to go. My first Glarry experience was good but the guitar itself had some minor nut issues that made it very hard to play (ST model). This GTL model however is amazing for the price. Only 2 issues I could find, dirty finger board and F holes a little rough. Otherwise this is an incredible instrument for the price. The Yellow model is particularly beautiful to look at.

MAJOR DAMAGE!!! Well, my guitar arrived today. --- I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. It arrived on the 29th. Not too upset about that because I ordered it on the 18th, knowing it could take up to 10 days for delivery. Well, being all excited when it arrived, when I saw the box, I was immediately concerned. UPDATE - 1-15-21 Upon the arrival of the damaged guitar, I contacted Glarry customer service. The customer service manager I worked with, Manager Lin, was incredibly responsive and helpful! The guitar was replaced immediately! Because the guitar that I ordered was not in stock at the time, I was given the option to wait until it was in stock or the option of choosing another guitar that was in stock. Because it was a gift, I wanted to replace it as soon as I could and so I chose a different guitar from the Glarry inventory. The guitar was immediately put on order and I received it roughly 12 to 15 days later. All through this time, the service manager was in contact with me and was very helpful and responsive to my messages. As you know, these guitars are quite competitively priced but they are worth every penny and more! I've been playing guitar for nearly all of my life and I really enjoy the guitar I bought for my child. It's a fantastic beginner guitar and to be honest, I'm considering getting one for myself for fun! The classic question: Would I buy from Glarry again? Heck yes! The only problem I had during this entire transition was the worry about how the guitar would arrive. They are not packed very well and so I was "biting my nails" while waiting for the second guitar to arrive. it arrived in PERFECT condition! Firstly the brilliant value for money considering the finish of the instrument is much better than I could hope for. I bought the guitar as a base for updating the spec by adding some hardware updates... i.e. Locking tuners, Roller string trees, TUSQ nut, Strap Locks, new pickups and a Stetsbar Tremolo, and a good setup. That done, it will be one hell of of an instrument... as good as a guitar costing many times as much. Thanks Guys!

This is my third Glarry guitar and I love it. I had to do the usual setup, new strings, polish frets, steel wool the neck and fret board, lower the action, and set intonation but after that it plays like a dream. It has a wonderful sound when played through a decent amp and I use it in a band every weekend. Thanks for a great guitar, the price is very reasonable. This is my first review, the other two guitars are also great after setup and I will recommend Glarry to all of my friends!

Picked up a blue f hole tele for black Friday sale and I gotta admit, very nice and a great bargain for the price. Fed Ex took forever but other than that I am very happy with my Glarry. As soon as it arrived I cut the strings and put some slinky 10's on it and gave that neck a good lemon oil treatment. The neck was straight but after a week it did need some relief removed from it. The intonation was close and the string height I was able to go down a good bit without fret buzzing. The guitar pl ...
