The guitar must have been stored for a long time in a bad place. Some hardware was rusty. The frets were old and corroded. After I assessed if I can repair the damage I then began treating the very dry Fretboard and the polishing the frets. Put the inner washer of the switch on the outside and cleaned other rusty parts. Upgraded the Pickups and put on new strings. *I got a surprise T-shirt in the mail.

Update: Open Coil Bridge pickup now has more treble bite and sounds very hot and aggressive. Neck pickup, also open-coil, retains definition and clarity, plus it has a distinctive "PAF" vintage voice to it. **Both pickups sound very well together.
