My son is progressing well through his lessons, and he has smoothly transitioned to playing a real piano when given the opportunity. The various sounds and preloaded songs provide plenty of enjoyment for a 9-year-old to explore. The included seat is sturdy and a nice addition without any extra cost. However, the headphones broke on the first day and weren't comfortable anyway, but I don't mind hearing him play!
